Compensation Benchmarking: Top Executives in China and General Managers Across Asia -

I just attended a presentation about China General Manager compensation, benefits and allowance trends in the manufacturing industry by Michelle Du and Liu Yang at Mercer Consulting Shanghai. Michelle kindly made slides available to HireAttraction readers.

These cash compensation ranges in RMB are for General Managers, Head of Accounting and Finance, Head of Marketing, Head of Sales, Head of Supply China and Head of Research and Development. These compensation ranges are for local leaders (not expats) in China. The data is taken from the 2013 Mercer China Executive Remuneration Survey.

These are compensation ranges for General Managers in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and US. The Compensation is for local General Managers. For example, the Singapore range is from surveys of Singapore local managers at Singapore industrial companies in Singapore expressed in RMB.

Biography

Alexandra Hendrickson is a Partner in the Chicago office of Odgers Berndtson Executive Search. Alexandra specializes in filling senior roles for industrial companies because she was previously an executive at PPG Industries. She has many clients in the chemicals, coatings and advanced materials sectors.

Alexandra has both US and international search expertise. From 2009 to 2015, she lived and worked in Shanghai, China and helped clients find great leaders to grow their businesses throughout Asia Pacific. Prior to 2009, she was based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and assisted companies in the Midwest industrial heartland.

Earlier in her career, Alexandra held senior positions in American Express Company and at Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank) in New York.

Alexandra has an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School in Philadelphia and a BA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
